Dan Giurca - photojournalist
Background
Dan Giurca was born in Bucharest, Romania but grew up in New York City, where his love of photography was developed. He began freelancing in 1990, traveling to Eastern Europe and Haiti. He freelanced in NYC with Newsday, Daily News, AP, AFP, Sygma, SIPA. He attended the Eddie Adams Workshop V 1992. He had personal exhibitions in Bucharest 1998 and Cluj 1999. He freelanced with the New York Times from Romania 2000-2003. Currently he is in New York on freelance contract with the New York Times, and has images distributed worldwide by Corbis.
